BHRS Council Elections

British Heart Rhythm Society (BHRS) is looking to recruit new Doctors (including a Doctor from a non-tertiary centre), Physiologists, Nurses and a President Elect. The following positions on Council fall vacant:

  • 2 x Doctor representative
  • 1 x Doctor (who does not perform ablation & works in a non-tertiary center)
  • 3 x Physiologist representative
  • 2 x Nurse representative
  • 1 x President Elect

Thank you to everyone who applied.  Voting is now open in all categories (except the Nurse category which did not need to go to vote).

  • The successfully elected candidates will officially join BHRS Council at the first council meeting after the elections. This will be in October 2022. This council meeting will be via Zoom.

  • Council work is fulfilling but you should expect to work additional hours to promote the efforts of BHRS

What Council Work Involves…

Council meets five to six times per year.  Presently, meetings are held via Zoom. Any face to face meetings are usually held at the BCS offices in London.

All council members are expected to attend a minimum of two meetings per year.

In addition to the responsibilities of the position, members of Council automatically become Trustees of BHRS, a Registered Charity and must accept the responsibilities associated with that position. It is advised that all nominees acquaint themselves with these responsibilities; a summary entitled ‘The Essential Trustee: What you need to know’, this can be downloaded from the Charity Commission website at the following link:
