BHRS Council Elections

British Heart Rhythm Society (BHRS) is looking to recruit new Doctor, Nurse and Physiologist Representatives.  The following positions on Council fall vacant:

  • 2 x Doctor representative
  • 1 x Nurse representative
  • 1 x Physiologist

If you feel you would like to contribute to the running of your Society, please apply to become a member of Council. This is your opportunity to help shape how BHRS develops whilst gaining excellent experience of becoming involved with influencing national policy and gaining a better understanding of national arrhythmia services.

All posts have a tenure of three years and are renewable for a second term after successful re-election. The Constitution does allow past Council members to apply for these posts.

  • The successfully elected candidates will officially join BHRS Council at the first council meeting after the elections. This is usually in October.  This council meeting will be via Zoom.

  • Council work is fulfilling but you should expect to work additional hours to promote the efforts of BHRS

Nominations should be accompanied by a personal statement expressing your vision for BHRS.

The deadline for nomination will be 17th August.  Voting will commence on 24th August and close on 14th September.

What Council Work Involves…

COMMITMENTS

Council meets five to six times per year.  Presently, meetings are held via Zoom. Any face to face meetings are usually held at the BCS offices in London.

All council members are expected to attend a minimum of two meetings per year.

In addition to the responsibilities of the position, members of Council automatically become Trustees of BHRS, a Registered Charity and must accept the responsibilities associated with that position.
