Electrophysiology Fellow – Cardiology (Oct 2023)

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham are looking for a motivated trainee to join us as a Senior EP Fellow from Oct 2023. This is a great opportunity for lots of catheter ablation, device work, extraction, and ICC. Feel free to contact Dr Joseph de Bono or Dr Manish Kalla (details on link) or speak to our current fellows.

The appointee is expected to take responsibility for all patients undergoing electrophysiology procedures in the labs. The fellow will work with the EP registrars to ensure that all patients under the EP team are seen daily. Where suitably trained, the fellow will be expected to perform pre-procedure TOE to exclude left atrial thrombus when required prior to left atrial ablation. The Fellow will be trained in all aspects of cardiac electrophysiology. If appropriately trained they will be expected to implant single and dual chamber pacemakers and defibrillators.

The fellow will have two dedicated outpatient clinics a week with their own patient list. They may also be required to assist in a further specialist EP clinic.

Closing date: 26 February 2023
