The BHRS Council

The society was formed in 2005 by the amalgamation of the British Pacing and Electrophysiology Group (BPEG), the British Association of Arrhythmia Nurses (BANA) and the UK Interventional Electrophysiology Society (UKICES).

British Heart Rhythm Society (BHRS) hold elections once a year. If you feel you would like to contribute to the running of your Society, please do apply to become a member of Council when nominations begin.

Patient Representative

TREVOR FERNANDES
TREVOR FERNANDESBHRS Patient Representative
Following a successful 30 year career as a Programme & Project Manager in both the public and private sectors, Trevor retired in 2008 and now spends much of his time working for a number of charitable organisations. As a patient living with heart failure, Trevor became a Heart Advocate for the British Heart Foundation and has been involved in many campaigns to raise awareness of the risks and causes of chronic heart disease.

Trevor is a Patient & Public Voice Partner for NHS England and has played key roles in a number of national programmes to promote patient & carer perspectives. Trevor currently Chairs the East of England Citizens’ Senate, which ensures that citizens’ views are at the heart of the emerging Integrated Care Systems and Health Care Partnerships in the region. Trevor is also the Treasurer for Cardiovascular Care Partnership (UK), which is a registered charity, affiliated to the British Cardiovascular Society.
